Design Your Business
Do you have a business idea? In Design Your Business (5 ECTS), students work in multidisciplinary teams to develop their personal technological knowledge, design skills, or other expertise into a business concept and pitch. The course is taught in collaboration with multiple teachers. Students are encouraged to come prepared with preliminary business ideas that they would like to develop further, but this is not required.
Students work in interdisciplinary teams to identify myths or urban legends and test if those hold true by conducting empirical field tests. In addition to planning and executing the tests in order to bust the myths, the students are required to explain the phenomena in a scientific way. After exploring previous studies on the topic, the students create hypothesis and a research plan for the empirical tests. Some of the suggested research plans are selected for the empirical testing phase. After the summer break the students implement their plans and make videos in the style of the TV series “Myth Busters”.
